Good morning, Big Blue Nation! Tuesday, August 25 — yesterday was a relatively light news day, but we've got a few things for you.
Kentucky appears to be in the running for the services of TJ Harden, a running back who played for TCU and — checks notes — the Seattle Seahawks. An NFL-to-college transfer would be another sign of how strange the portal landscape has become. Harden brings professional experience to Will Stein's backfield, and if Kentucky can land him, it adds another dimension to the running back room.
Rob Dauster is a believer in the addition of Mark Mitchell and has the second weekend of the NCAA tournament as the floor for the Cats. That's not a prediction of a Final Four run — that's a statement that Mitchell's addition has fundamentally changed the trajectory of this team. If Dauster is right, Mark Pope has built something capable of making a deep March run.
If you like 3-point shooting, Kenny Brooks' squad is set for an endless barrage this season. The women's basketball team has reloaded with perimeter talent, and the emphasis on three-ball volume and accuracy could make UK one of the most entertaining teams to watch in 2026-27.
