Good morning, Big Blue Nation! Wednesday, September 2.
Kickoff is only three days away. Will Stein has some thoughts about how he's trying to keep his emotions in check on Saturday. The weight of the moment is real — this is his first game as a head coach at a program with massive expectations. Stein is working to stay composed and let his preparation do the talking when the lights come on at Kroger Field.
Sports Illustrated has some bold predictions for Stein's first year — and one of them is something that would shake up the entire SEC. The magazine isn't predicting mediocrity; they're seeing potential for something special if the Cats can execute Stein's vision.
We'll wrap with UK basketball. Is there really a chance of UK adding a 15th player now that Mitchell has returned to Mizzou? Mark Pope still has one more roster spot to fill, and the door just opened for some other Cats to step up this year. The Mitchell drama has cleared, and now other players on the roster have a chance to prove they belong in the rotation. Competition will decide who gets the minutes.
Don't forget — UK volleyball takes on UCLA tonight.
